Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born on March 17 1998) who is also known as Grimes is a Canadian artist, singer, and record producer. Her early work was called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4] with influences from hip-hop, electronic and rock. She is often incorporating science fiction and feminist themes throughout the lyrics. Five studio albums were made available by the group. Grimes is a native of Vancouver then moved to Montreal. She began her solo career in the late decade. In 2010 she debuted two albums on Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. After that, she signed with 4AD and gained notoriety when she released her third studio album Visions which came out in the year 2012. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion" that was awarded an award called the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. [5] Following this, her album on her 4th studio effort, Art Angels, was launched in 2015 and earned high praise from critics as several publications have rated it as the best album of the year. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). In addition to music, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 online action-role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the competition for musicians game series Alter Ego.
